Three questions. Three first-place results.

We checked the same six broad questions with Google signed out and the browser’s Search customisation switched off. These are the three questions where BFG was the first standard web result.

First in 3 of 6 searches; BFG appeared on 4 of the six first result pages. Checked 11 October 2026. The off setting was verified before and after the panel. Google still used Queensland location information from the IP address.

No AI Overview answer appeared in this signed-out panel, so it provides no new AI ranking result. All outcomes are retained privately; only first-place examples are displayed here.

Making our mark beyond “independent”.

Before the signed-out Google verification, we checked six everyday questions about Brisbane food websites, guides, publications and news. Google was signed in and personalised; Gemini used signed-in temporary chats; ChatGPT was signed out. These are the earlier first-place examples in those modes.

How we checked.

One date, separate fixed panels

BFG's own checks on 11 October 2026, using browser contexts on one computer. The original core, additional ChatGPT, broader cross-platform and signed-out Google panels are kept separate; AI Overviews are part of the same Google queries. Each panel retained its first complete results, with no answer regeneration or model switching. One initial signed-out setup query preceded verification of the off setting and was excluded from the confirmed-off six-query panel. These are not independent tests across different people or devices.

Account and answer modes

The latest Google panel was signed out, with browser Search customisation off verified before and after; each query also requested non-personalised results. Queensland IP localisation remained. Earlier Google core checks were signed in and reported no personalisation; the earlier broader panel was signed in and personalised. Gemini used signed-in temporary chats in Auto mode. ChatGPT used fresh signed-out guest chats; its model ID was not exposed. Signed out means no account, not no internet or web sources.

Ordering, not endorsement

We recorded visible ordering for these exact questions. This is a dated visibility milestone, not an endorsement by Google, OpenAI or Gemini, an industry quality ranking, a universal number-one position or a readership measure. Longer-term consistency is not yet established.

Two additional checks, outside the nine-check panel, placed BFG first in Bing organic results and Bing AI Mode / Copilot Search for “independent food media Brisbane”.
