The Crema Room

Tiramisu at the markets and event catering, Brisbane to the Gold Coast.

The Crema Room is Suzan’s Italian tiramisu business. She brought the idea north from Sydney, taught herself the dessert and now serves it from a trailer at markets across Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and at weddings, engagements and birthdays.

Suited to

Picking up a tiramisu cup at a weekend market, or ordering a personalised tiramisu for a wedding, engagement, birthday, shower or work event.

Why this place

Events came early. Within the first couple of months of trading, Suzan took her first engagement booking, and more couples have trusted her with their special days since. Her goal is to be the business Queensland thinks of for tiramisu, especially at events. Our founder story follows how she built it.

What to order

Start with the signature: Suzan’s traditional recipe. Her own favourite is the brownie-base version, a layer of brownie with the traditional tiramisu on top. She also experiments with limited flavours, including coconut and a Rooh Afza tiramisu made to honour her best friend’s family. The trailer serves coffee too.

Good to know

This is a mobile business with no fixed shopfront. Check @thecremaroom for the next market before travelling. For events, the proposal form takes about two minutes, and The Crema Room replies with a personalised proposal within 24 to 48 hours. The event range is delivery only, bookings open up to six months ahead, and full payment is due within two hours of the quote for events less than two weeks away. The business describes itself as licensed and insured. BFG interviewed Suzan independently; this is not a paid feature. Main photo by Brisbane Food Guide; event photos supplied by The Crema Room.
